Nearing the End of Summer

We are heading towards the end of summer. Wilken has really gotten into drawing recently. He will spend lots of time drawing monsters, trucks, trains, cars, and people. He continues to love to hear make believe stories and often changes the plot for the storyteller as the story goes along. His favorite themes these days are of scary things happening in the woods or magic castles. He builds lots of ramps and garages for his cars to drive into with his wooden blocks.

Jake is officially walking! By about 9 and 1/2 months he was taking steps constantly, and began walking full-time about a week later. He loves to throw things...all things. He can be a bit dangerous. His love of balls (which started as soon as he was sitting up) continues and he has quite the arm. So far, he has gotten about 4 teeth at a time in 2 waves. He has 8 already. He really is a happy little guy, but when he gets mad you better watch out. He can have a screaming fit already. His first word was ball (ba). He can also say bath (ba). I know what you are thinking, but he does use these in context. He is also working on his signs. He signs "more," "all done," and can tell you when he has gone #2 in his diaper.
