Crawling Shmawling

Crawling is old news already. If my parents were a little more timely on posting my most recent accomplishments, this whole "blog journal" thing may be a nice scrapbook. The error lies when they post blogs of me announcing that I can crawl almost two weeks after the initial feat. Are you guys proud of me or not, geez?

My knees are calloused like the hands of a lumberjack! I'm ready for either speed crawling, distance crawling, or to start using my feet to project myself in an upward motion like those around me (sorry, not you Lucca or Siena).

I'm really flying around the house and can even play a little hide and go seek before my parents even knew what hit them. If my mom hides from me and calls my name, I am after her like peanut butter on jelly (or so I've been told - still waiting for the allergy phase to pass.)

Adding to the crawling phase, I've now pulled myself up and even climbed a flight of stairs (as of 1/23). I was going to save that for another blog, but who knows when that will be... I might as well tell you that my top front tooth broke through on 2/3 and the left one is just starting to poke through today (2/7). Here I am, about to embark on another perilous adventure up the tile stairs. In order to capture a video shot of me in action, Mom decided to forego safety for a brief moment, allowing me to climb without her usual hovering around to catch me in case I slip. It was almost a near disaster as you will see in the following film clip. Two things to add to the "What Not to Do as a First Time Parent" manual you may ask? Allow your child to climb slippery tile stairs in socks without spotting him. Another thing? Allowing them to go after a skittish cat with claws without supervision. Duh! I made it out fine, luckily.

Anyway, walking is my next goal and although I may only be weeks away from checking that box off on my "1 year plan", you may not hear about it until a few more months the way my parents are blogging.

Wil,
Way to take over your house. You are soo lucky to have stairs to climb and cats to chase. Can I come and visit one of these days?
