After last year's spring training trip to Scottsdale in 3 digit degree heat with 1 year
olds, we decided to take a five year
hiatus and go in a different direction for awhile. In March, we decided
Wilken & Rory were old enough to visit Disneyland and to also "get something" out of it. With
Wilken's love of "Cars" and the princess
fascination that Rory has, it was really a no-
brainer. Leave it to that good
ole Disney marketing.
The kids had a blast with all the rides and characters they ran into. Ryan even ran into a college fraternity buddy! We went on a Thursday to Disneyland and stayed late enough to watch the Disney parade, slept overnight, and then returned on Friday to California Adventure and remained until their magical (and quite unbelievable I might add) parade concluded. Wilken loved every single ride. He was fearless in the dark and spooky attractions such as Peter Pan, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, etc. He loved the roller coaster in Toon Town and went on the Dumbo ride twice. He and Ryan took a car for a spin as well.

He was willing to be approached by Pluto, but was
leery of all other characters,
especially princes and princesses. While Rory was enthralled with the real live princesses,
Wilken retreated to a quieter coloring activity with dad.

We realized that we went almost the entire weekend without documenting Jake and
Greyson's presence. They were there and played their infant roles perfectly...spending the day traveling about with their parents, eating, and sleeping with little fussing.
We got back on Friday night and still had an entire weekend! We had a great trip with Sean, Becky, Rory, and Greyson and hope to do it again soon.
