Easter Cometh

Since our family was out of town (Aunt Traci and Uncle Ken's family) and we almost always have Easter with them, we decided to have a few friends over to celebrate with us over brunch.
We were prepared the night before for the Easter Bunny, leaving him/her a bowl of water and 3 mini-carrots (didn't want to give him/her too much as all the boys and girls around the world would be giving him/her a little something). Sure enough the Easter Bunny came overnight and hid eggs all over the inside of our house. Some included goldfish crackers, candy, stickers, and even a monster truck. There was another surprise on the toilet lid that involved a "mini" big long semi-truck.

The Andersons (Cory, Danielle, Bryce, & Landy) and the Keenans (Sean, Becky, Rory, & Gresyon) came over around 10am for brunch and a little "outdoor" egg hunt. We hung out in the backyard most of the day (inside only to watch Univ. of San Diego lose in the final four tournament). It was a hot and sunny day, so we had to get out the hose and sprinkler.
Elanor made a fantastic bruch consisting of French Toast cassarole, eggs, muffins and fruit (thank you Keenans), sausage, bagels (thank you Andersons), mimosas, and bloody marys. A good day was had by all!

We're Going To DISNEYLAND!

After last year's spring training trip to Scottsdale in 3 digit degree heat with 1 year olds, we decided to take a five year hiatus and go in a different direction for awhile. In March, we decided Wilken & Rory were old enough to visit Disneyland and to also "get something" out of it. With Wilken's love of "Cars" and the princess fascination that Rory has, it was really a no-brainer. Leave it to that good ole Disney marketing.
The kids had a blast with all the rides and characters they ran into. Ryan even ran into a college fraternity buddy! We went on a Thursday to Disneyland and stayed late enough to watch the Disney parade, slept overnight, and then returned on Friday to California Adventure and remained until their magical (and quite unbelievable I might add) parade concluded. Wilken loved every single ride. He was fearless in the dark and spooky attractions such as Peter Pan, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, etc. He loved the roller coaster in Toon Town and went on the Dumbo ride twice. He and Ryan took a car for a spin as well.

He was willing to be approached by Pluto, but was leery of all other characters, especially princes and princesses. While Rory was enthralled with the real live princesses, Wilken retreated to a quieter coloring activity with dad.

We realized that we went almost the entire weekend without documenting Jake and Greyson's presence. They were there and played their infant roles perfectly...spending the day traveling about with their parents, eating, and sleeping with little fussing.
We got back on Friday night and still had an entire weekend! We had a great trip with Sean, Becky, Rory, and Greyson and hope to do it again soon.
