Halloween, 2008

Halloween week was full of fun festivities. We visited another pumpkin patch, Bates Nut Farm, with Rory, Sabrina, Greyson, and Conrad.

It was about 100 degrees that day, so we didn't last too long. The heat didn't stop the kids from having a great time together. Jake continues to be a good sport about wearing his hats. The boys did a great job, with daddy, carving the pumpkin we picked out at the patch into a disgusting display. We started the evening of Halloween at Becky's neighbor's for a pre-trick-or-treating BBQ.
Wilken did some "repairs" on the firetruck.
Daddy and Wilken went trick-or-treating on our street while Jake and mommy stayed home to hand out candy. When Wilken returned, his buddy Sabrina, her mommy, and her brother came to help hand out candy and play for the rest of the evening. Wilken and Sabrina handed out candy for nearly an hour before we ran out. The next morning after way overindulging on candy and other sweets, we got to go to Rory's 3rd birthday party. Mommy and Jake. Mommy is thrilled with the recent poll numbers.

November''s Loss

When one is lazy about downloading pictures onto one's computer, one runs the risk of losing a lot of wonderful documentation. Due to some unfortunate tinkering with our new camera's picture resolution, someone (who will remain anonymous) decided to reformat the camera. This resulted in a loss of maybe 100 pictures from November through mid January. We were able to get some from family, as will be shown in the following few entries.
November: Jake got his first down and dirty stomach bug which laid him out with severe vomiting and then diarrhea for about 10 days. Here is a get well soon picture we sent to his Bubie who was ill. His pallor and weight loss are evident. Wilken, fortunately, was spared by the bug. Mommy, daddy, and the babysitter were not. Sorry, again about that Vanessa! We had some good rain, which of course was followed by some good old fashion mud pie time.

Not pictured: Jake is officially running! We spent Thanksgiving dinner at home with Grandma V. Wilken took another session of his multi-sport camp and Jake loved going to a music class.
