My first trip to Denver to visit my mommy's extended family was a success. I once again loved the airports and was a champ on the flight both there and back. I looked at books and magazines, colored, and opened and closed the shade to the window for entertainment. I slept a ton too.
We stayed with my Aunt Jane (my Bubie's sister) and met my Bubie and her other sister (Aunt Barbara) in Denver for a visit. My Aunt lives right across the street from an amazing park. She had a broom, which I took to the park daily to sweep the sand and leaves.
In the past month, I have learned that everyone is called a special name. For example, Bubie is "Bubu" and Grandpa is "Ga Ga." I did my best for my Aunt Jane and Aunt Barbara ("ja" and "bawa.") My Aunts spoiled me rotten with toys and books. My Aunt Jane even set up a special little cupboard just for me with all kinds of fun things inside which I regularly emptied out before trying to get in and out of the doggie door or pull vases off of the tables. My Aunt Jane and cousin Nick have a beautiful and incredibly smart white German shepherd. The first day I met him, I was sooo excited. He is timid around newcomers, but he let me hand him a ball and jumped around barking at me treating me like a puppy. However, once I came inside it was a different story. I guess my 24 pound physique was a bit intimidating for him, as he hid from me the entire visit, and even shook when I came around. When I was sleeping, he came in and hung around, but as soon as he heard me wake up in my room, he was outside hiding as fast as you can imagine.

I met so many cousins this weekend! I met my Great Bubie, my Great Great Aunt and Uncle, my bubie's first cousins, my mom's second cousins, and my second cousins once removed-whatever that means. I spent two days with my cousin Eva, who is an active little sprite just like me. Boy can she climb. I saw her climb on top of dining room table. Maybe it is a coincidence, but my mommy can't get me down from our table since we got home. Here we are playing at her house. I thought I could dance. You should see her dance. She uses her arms and even dances while she plays a harmonica. My mommy says we have a harmonica at home for me to try. Cool!
We went to the mall to a really fun play area where all of the climbing structures were made to look like breakfast foods. I met my cousin Mya who is 2 and 1/2 years old and her mommy there. She speaks in complete sentences and is so smart! I didn't get to pose in any pictures with her because I had a meltdown prompting our departure before mommy could break out the camera. Here I am on a fried egg and a waffle, before things started to unravel when I got a little tired.

I am walking very well and even running now. I had a really fun outing to the Children's museum in Denver where everything is geared towards kids and I could run around and get into everything without breaking anything. They had a great climbing area for toddlers, a Railroad room, an arts and crafts area, a real live fire truck to climb in, and so much more. Mommy couldn't get many good pictures because I kept moving too fast, but here are a couple.
Well, it was a really fun trip. I loved staying at my Aunt Jane's house and loved to be the center of attention while my Aunts, Bubie, Cousin, and mommy looked on. I have been going through some serious separation anxiety this past month again. I don't like it when my mommy leaves, especially when we are out of town. I told her she may not go to take a shower or go to the bathroom without me. I even got very angry with her when she made me take a picture with my Bubie and Aunts as I thought she was trying to leave me. Mommy said this picture is a perfect portrayal of the past month.
I loved Denver and can't wait to go back again. Boy did I miss my daddy though. Since my daddy works upstairs, I let my mom know I miss him by pointing up and saying "dada" with longing (a slightly whiny voice). I did that repeatedly in Denver. I loved talking to him on the phone and hearing his voice. When I saw him at the airport to pick us up, I had a huge smile and didn't need my mommy at all for the whole time we were there...until we got home of course.
