The boys started out the day as superheroes, in preparation for their long bike ride up and down our street for the annual 4th of July parade. Every year, our street has this parade. The neighborhood D.J. blares familiar patriotic tunes while of children and parents, in red white ensembles using using various modes of transportation, travel up and down the street. Wilken and Rory.

Daddy and Jake.

Sean and Greyson.
Later in the evening, we went to the Keenan's street for a block party to celebrate the holiday. They had a jumpee, everyone brought appetizers, drinks, and bbq. Lots of fun. The evening ended on our balcony as the 4 of us watched the local fireworks display.

Summer with the Cousins

We have been hanging with the big cousins quite a bit since they have been home on summer break from London. We hardly see our kids when they are around, as they seem to have an endless supply of energy to play with their little cousins. We had them over for a sleepover, went out for pizza and video games, and then hit Legoland next day. After that, it was off to their house for a swim in the pool. Grey, chasing the boys on the big wheel.

Daddy and Wilken. At 44 inches, Wilken can go on almost every "big kid" ride at Legoland. He loves the roller coasters.

David and Grey chose the highest level for this ride which twists its riders upside down. Jake, too little for most of the rides, hanging out waiting with Mommy for the big kids.
Swimming at the Kaufman's. Wilken almost has it! He will be swimming in a few weeks. He can go for stretches under water, but needs a little help if the side or stairs are too far away. He has a strong doggy paddle and loves to run and jump into the water. Jake was a little tentative at first, only swimming with Mommy and a little skeptical of all of the rough housing and shenanigans with the whole crew in the pool. By the end of the day though, he was running and jumping in like his big brother. He at one point wanted to do it "by beself" and would attempt to jump in alone with out a parent. Very nerve wracking.
